Cable Car Museum and Barn

Andrew Hallide invented the cable car in 1873
in order to provide transportation up the steep
hills of San Francisco. This building houses the cars
at night and also serves as a repair shop.
It is open to the public to view the vintage
cable cars and various mechanisms of the cars
are also on display.
